After graduating with legal qualifications in 1978 Steven worked for several years in industrial relations roles with an employee organisation operating in the Victorian public sector. He moved into research roles with the Federal public sector during the early 1980's before returning to studies and obtaining post-graduate management qualifications.
In 1985 he joined the electricity industry in an employee relations role and he worked in that industry until he joined nem in mid-2006. During that time the industry experienced massive reform, and Steven has been directly involved in executive capacities in the management of organisation change, including several years as Company Secretary in the electricity generation sector.
Steven brings a unique blend of qualifications and experience to nem that have been gained the private and public sectors with particular strengths in legal services, environmental management, information and records management, corporate affairs, insurance, site services, enterprise risk management and security.
